Out of the mouth's of babes

One evening, after tucking her little one into bed and finally settling down, Mom was jolted the next morning by her toddler’s serious inquiry:
"Mommy, what were you doing bouncing on Daddy’s stomach last night?"

Mom, caught mid-sip of coffee, had to think fast. With a knowing smile, she replied, "I have to do that or Daddy's belly will get very fat."

The toddler frowned thoughtfully, clearly unconvinced. "That won't work."

Mom raised an eyebrow. "Why not?"

With the confidence only a toddler can muster, they dropped the unexpected bombshell:
"Because the babysitter keeps blowing him back up again!"

Mom nearly choked on her coffee, picturing it—her husband, inflated and deflated like some human-sized bouncy ball, under the unsuspecting influence of their babysitter’s mysterious ways.

Ah, the way toddlers see the world. If only adults could live in that world too!
