When ‘For You’ Is the Worst Possible Justification

Ah, behold—a cautionary tale wrapped in deception, dusted with delusion, and served with an ice-cold side of betrayal.

Our unsuspecting hero, believing in the sacred sanctity of marriage, stumbles upon a DVD tucked away in the shadows of his own home. It was hidden—but not well enough. Fate intervened. His heart flutters, convinced that love had triumphed—a thoughtful, romantic, perhaps even tear-jerking gift from his wife, meant for his upcoming birthday.

If only.

Instead of sweet nostalgia, instead of an affectionate tribute, instead of anything remotely sane—he pressed play and watched his life crash and burn in real-time. His beloved wife, moonlighting as an amateur cinematic disappointment, revealing secrets best left buried beneath the ruins of their relationship. The budget? Insulting. The acting? Unforgivable. The betrayal? Beyond comprehension.

And her response? The pièce de resistance?

“I was doing it for you.”

Ah yes, for him—as if he had placed an order for soul-shattering heartbreak and emotional ruin. As if the sheer horror of it all would somehow become a touching gesture. As if his misery could be gift-wrapped and called devotion.

Thus commenced the spectacular mental demolition of a man undone by treachery, needing months of therapy to exorcise the ghosts of unwanted cinema from his psyche.

Some betrayals are brutal. Some are unforgettable. And some come in DVD format.
